Catching a 2 1/2 lb bass on the hidden lake we have discovered. It will be one of those places we hold near and dear to our hearts because if people over fished it and took them we wouldn't be able to get the Big Ones!

I'm proud of my fisherman, he just started second grade and is a Joy! So, tomorrow will be another day of fishing for us because now that school is in session he's only allowed fishing on the weekends. That is until it gets too cold! I do have my limits.

Fishing this summer!

This Picture if of Chase showing me what he'd look like if he had a winning fish!

So, here it goes, long time no posts. . . even though the two of you follow me on Facebook!

Chase has had a wonderful summer of fishing! Pretty much after work that's what we do. He has caught his largest bass to date, 5 lbs, and now officially has THE BITE OF THE BASS!! Bluegill just don't do it for him anymore. He will go ahead and catch bluegill if there is nothing else, but he prefers the Big Daddy s!

He really wants to fish the 50 states, so far we have Massachusetts and Ohio checked off that list! Anywhere there is a lake, Chase is willing to try.

Today was quite stressful because we got the opportunity to use our friend's row boat and go out onto the lake. Chase loved it, but I was so stressed out trying to figure out how to use the trolling motor and not hit anything. . .whew was I glad when that was over. Chase's only complaint was the life jacket hindered his casting. He did fine, 7 small bass. Go figure, while I'm trying to figure out how to get the boat into the back of the truck -- BY MYSELF-- no, I don't know what I was thinking -- he casts out to the normal area he fishes from shore and catches 2 more bass. I told him once a year on a boat was fine, but I'm only relaxed when we are on the shore!

He had quite a few bites and one was big that he was reeling in and all of a sudden it threw it's head back and the line went flying into the boat. Then we were coasting along and a Huge Bass jumped right out of the water at the front of the boat and I said "holy ****", and Chase goes "mom at times like this can I say **** too cuz it scared me to death". . .needless to say I won't be saying that again, not that I should've in the first place!!

I've realized I use a lot of exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chase hates it when I say "Be the Bass". . . I say it so when he's making a decision he and starts with "I don't know what I want, etc. . . and driving me crazy with indecisiveness I say "Be the Bass". . . Pounce on what you want don't just nibble it like a sunfish. Bass strike, Sunfish play with your mind. . .BE THE BASS--I think I need to take that advice in my own life, sure would make a lot of things easier. I also don't allow Chase to complain while fishing because it's the one place where if you love it you should be happy whether catching the fish or not!
